Nut Chocolate Vadai / Patties

  • As mentioned in the previous post I crossed 75 recipes in my blog and I would like to share an exclusive recipe that wold attract all of us especially kids.
  • Even though the name indicates patties/vadai it has got nothing to do with frying.Actually it is a "no cook" recipe. It requires only mixing up of the given ingredients and hence a beginners recipe too
  • I adapted this recipe from a TV show and made some changes

Ingredients
  • Marie biscuits - 25 to 30 nos
  • Almonds - 1/2 cup
  • Powdered sugar - 2 tablepoons
  • Vanilla essence - 2 teaspoon
  • Drinking chocolate -  2 tablespoon
  • Milk maid or any condensed milk - 5 tablespoons
  • Ghee - 3 tablespoons
  • Milk - 2 tablespoons
Method
  • Break each and every biscuit into small pieces and run them in a mixer into a fine powder

  • Chop the almonds. You may do this using scissors and add it to powdered biscuit
  • Add sugar and vanilla essence and mix well with a spoon
  • Mix drinking chocolate
  • Pour in milk maid and mix well with a spoon
  • Add ghee and start kneading with your hand
  • Sprinkle milk while kneading the dough
  • Make small balls out of the dough (lemon sized).Flatten each and every ball like patties/ vadai and make a hole in the center
  • Refrigerate them at least for an hour before serving
Variations
  • Can also add any other chopped nuts and fix gems on each and every chocolate
  • Take a big portion of the kneaded dough and roll them like rotis and cut into desired shapes using molds
Note

The original recipe contains
  • 30 marie biscuits
  • Cocoa is used
  • Butter is used instead of ghee
