Simple Idly Upma

It is a well known fact that idly upma is made with left over idlis but I prefer this compared to plain idlis.This is a jet speed recipe


  • Idly - 10 to 12 no
  • Idly Milagai Podi - 2 teaspoons
  • Parupu Podi - 2 teaspoons
  • Mustard - 1 teaspoon
  • Urad dhall - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 tablespoons
  • Cut idlis into small squares

  • Add molga podi and parupu podi to the chopped idlis and mix well
  • In a separate pan heat oil and tamper with mustard seeds and when it splutters add urad dhall
  • Add molaga podi and parupu podi coated idlis and mix well
  • That's it "Idly Upma" is ready.Serve it hot
  • Garnish with coriander leaves if required
  • Can also saute onions and tomatoes
  • Temper curry leaves if needed
  • Can just use either molga podi or parupu podi
