Stuffed Bread Bajji

My previous post was Plain Bread Bajji.Now its "Stuffed Bread Bajji" which consists of few steps Spread any chutney/sauce on a bread slice
Place another bread slice over it
Dip it in bajji batter
Deep fry in oil
Stuffed Bread Bajji is ready !!!

Part - 1 - Stuffing / Paste
  • Small Onions - 20 nos
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon or Hing - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Tamarind - gooseberry sized or Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilly - 1 or Chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - little

Grind the above items together (if using lemon juice skip it now).Then saute it in 1 tablespoon of oil till the raw smell goes.If using lemon juice add it now

Keep this paste ready
Part - 2 - Outer Layer
  • Bread slices - 10 nos
  • Bajji Batter - nearly 1 bowl
  • Oil - Deep frying

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan
  • Cut bread slices into rectangular shape
  • Apply the paste on a bread slice and keep another bread slice over it
  • Dip the stuffed bread slices into the batter and coat it well
  • Carefully drop it into hot oil and deep fry in it
  • Fry well on both the sides till golden brown
  • Place it on a colander and drain the excess oil

Serve it hot
