This is a quick dhal with veggies that goes well with Rotis and Jeera Rice

- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 teaspoon
- Bay leaf - 1
- Cloves - 2
- Cinnamon stick - a small piece
- Green chillies - 2 or 3 (finely chopped)
- Garlic pods - 3 or 4 (chop it)
- Onions - 2 (finely chopped)
- Tomato - 2 nos (cut into small pieces)
- Capsicum - 1 medium sized (diced into cubes)
- Potato - 1 (cut into cubes)
- Carrot - 2 (cut into small pieces)
- Toor dhal - 1 cup
- Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoons
- Water - to immerse the contents
- Turmeric - little
- Lemon - 1 (optional)
- Coriander leaves - little
Method
- Heat oil in a kadai.Splutter jeera and saute bay leaf, cloves and cinnamon stick
- Fry green chillies and garlic pods
- Saute onions with a pinch of salt
- Also saute tomatoes with a pinch of salt
- Add capsicum pieces and saute it
- Put chopped potatoes and carrots.Swirl it once
- Transfer to a vessel that fits into pressure cooker.Add salt, haldi and pour water
- Pressure cook for 3 whistles
- Once done garnish with coriander leaves.Squeeze lemon if neede
Once done serve it with Rotis , Jeera Rice and Plain Parathas
