Tomato Soup

I don't think "Tomato Soup" needs an introduction as such


Ingredients
  • Well ripped Tomatoes - 1/4 kg
  • Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Garlic pods - 2 or 3 (crush it )
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Butter - 1 teaspoon
Garnish / Topping
  • Salt - as required
  • Pepper- as required
  • Fresh cream - 2 teaspoon or as required
  • Coriander Leaves - little
  • Fried Bread pieces - little
Method
  • Boil 2 cups of water. Switch off the stove and drop tomatoes into it.Leave it covered for 5 minutes
  • Then show the tomatoes under cold running water and peel off the skin 
  • In a pressure pan heat butter and splutter it with cumin seeds.
  • Fry garlic pods for a minute and then add chopped onions.Saute well for around 2-3 minutes
  • Now add tomatoes and pour around 1/2 cup of water
  • Pressure cook for 1 whistle
  • Allow the steam to escape and grind the tomato mixture in a blender / mixer
  • Strain it using soup strainer
  • While serving top with the items mentioned according to your preference
Note
  • Heat the soup for a minute before serving
Variations
  • You can also saute and boil fresh green peas and carrot pieces along with garlic and oni
  • To attain thickness you can either add 1/2 teaspoon of corn flour mixed with water or 1 teaspoon of rice flour mixed with water and give it a boil
