Its another version which includes incorporation of toor dhal in it.It goes well with Plain Dosa / Ven Pongal

- Brinjal - 2 big sized or 4 medium sized
- Toor dhal - 1/4 cup
- Oil - 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green Chilly - 4 nos (slit)
- Ginger - small piece
- Hing - little
- Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoons
- Coriander leaves - few
- Lemon - 1
- Roast brinjals directly into open flame.Turn on all the sides while doing so
- After sometime the skin will start coming out on its own.Switch off the stove at this point
- Allow it to cool and peel off the skin.Mash it or run it in a mixer using wiper button
- Now add it to the boiled toor dhal.Put salt and hing.Blend them well
- In a separate kadai heat oil and temper with mustard seeds, green chillies, ginger and curry leaves
- Add mashed brinjal- toor dhal mixture.Boil it once
- Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the stove
- Squeeze lemon and mix well
Kathrikai / Brinjal Gothsu is ready
delicious gothsu with lovely clicks.
