Part 1
- Pineapple - 2 cups chopped
- Chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Jaggery - 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Green chilly - 2 nos
(The original recipe includes coconut while grinding but I used for garnishing)
- Coconut oil - 1 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Methi seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chilly - 1
- Curry leaves - few
Part 4 - Garnish
- Coconut - 3 tablespoons
- Whipped curd - 1 bowl
Method
Step 1 - Paste
- Take the ingredients given under "Part 2".Add little water and grind it to a smooth paste
Step 2 - Cooking Pineapple
- Take pineapple pieces in a kadai.Add water to immerse.Put chilly powder and salt.Cook till it is soft
- Add the ground paste and mix well.Cook till the raw smell goes
- Add jaggery powder and cook for some more time
Step 3 - Seasoning
- In a separate kadai heat coconut oil and season with mustard, methi, red chilly and curry leaves
- Pour it over the cooked pineapple and stir well
- Switch off the stove and garnish it with coconut.Mix it thoroughly
- Transfer it to another kadai and let it to cool
- Then add whipped curd.Mix well
Pineapple Pachadi is ready.It goes well with Corn Millet Pesarattu
