It is indeed a most favorite starter for most of us.Only slicing the potatoes consumes time, otherwise it is an easy to do recipe and ideal for this rainy season

- Big Potatoes - 1/4 kg
- Oil - for deep frying
- Salt and Chilly Powder - as required
- Peel the potatoes and cut into finger like pieces.
- Boil around 4 cups of water and immerse the potato pieces in it for 5 minutes.Drain them under a colander
- Deep fry them in oil under medium heat.It should become golden brown in colour
- Place it under a paper napkin to remove excess oil from it
- Transfer them into a box/ container and mix with required amount of salt and chilly powder.Close the box / container and shake well
- Serve it with tomato sauce
- You may also add pepper powder instead of chilly powder
You can also try baking the fries. Just toss the sliced potatoes in a little oil and bake on a flat baking sheet. comes out really nice. You just have to a keep a constant eye to make sure it isn't burning.
