Palak Oats Dalia Dhokla

I have read "Oats Dhokla" recipe in many oats packet but saw the incorporation of Palak leaves to it in a TV show only
Again it was demonstrated with oats and bombay rava but i replaced sooji with dalia

Ingredients
  • Coarsely Powdered Oats - 1 cup
  • Dalia / Samba Wheat Rava - 1 cup
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Palak (finely chopped) - 1 cup
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 (optional)
  • Green Chilly (finely chopped) - 1 or 2
  • Salt - 3/4 tsp
  • Fruit Salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Method
  • Dry roast dalia in a medium flame till nice aroma comes

  • In a mixing bowl add powdered oats, dry roasted dalia
  • Then put palak, onion and chillies.Mix well

  • Add curd to it and mix well
  • Put salt and leave the batter for 20 minutes
    • Mix fruit salt with 1 teaspoon of water and add it to the above batter. You will see nice effervescence
    • Pour it onto a greased dish
    • Meanwhile boil little water in a idly cooker / steamer
    • Put a stand inside the idly cooker and place this dish on the stand
    • Close the idly cooker and steam it for 20 minutes.Check whether it is cooked or not by inserting a toothpick. The toothpick should come out clean.Otherwise steam for another 5 minutes
    • Leave it for 5 minutes after switching off the stove
    • Take it out carefully
    • Transfer to a flat surface / thali and cut into big cubes

    • Serve it hot with tomato sauce
