Yellow Pumpkin Raitha / Manjal Posanikai Thayir Pachadi / Kaddu Ka Raitha

This is an apt recipe for summer that can be served along with Biriyani / Tomato Rice
I tagged kids as well weight watchers.Use Full Fat curd for the former and skimmed curd for the latter

  • Chopped pumpkin - 1 cup
  • Whipped Curd - as needed (use full fat for kids/ skimmed for adults)
  • Salt - 3/4 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds -1/2 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Red chilly - 2
  • Hing - a pinch
  • Turmeric - a pinch

  • Steam chopped pumpkin for 10 minutes
  • Mash it well and let it cool
  • In a serving bowl put the mashed pumpkin ,Add curd and salt to it
  • In a separate kadai heat oil and splutter with mustard, curry leaves, hing, turmeric and red chilly
  • Pour the seasonings over the raitha. Mix well
