Lauki Paratha

Lauki / Surakai / Bottlegourd is rich in fiber and helps in weight loss

Ingredients
  • Grated Lauki - 1 1/2 cups
  • Wheat Flour - 2 cups
  • Ajwain / Omam - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala - 1 teaspoon or more
  • Jeera Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilly - 1/2 teaspoon (finely chopped)
  • Turmeric - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - as needed
Note: Do not discard water from grated Lauki

Method
  • In a broad basin put everything together
  • Slowly mix the contents
  • Knead well.The water in the Lauki is more than enough to knead the dough
  • Make small balls
  • Flatten each ball slowly.It should be thin
  • Heat a Tawa and cook paratha well on both the sides
  • Spread butter over the paratha before serving (optional)
  • Serve with any desired side dish / pickle / curd
