This is similar to Kovakkai Fry Version 1.Try this also

- Refined oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Channa dhal and Urad dhal - 1/2 teaspoon each
Part 2 - Saute and fry
- Onion - 2 nos (finely chopped)
- Tomato - 2 nos (finely chopped)
- Dondakaya / Kovakkai - 1/2 kg
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Chilly powder / Pickle Powder - 2 teaspoons or more
- Turmeric - 1 pinch
- Hing - a pinch

Method
Now Dondakaya / Kovakkai Fry is ready.Serve with Channa Dhal Coconut Rasam / Curd Rice
- Heat oil in a kadai and season with mustard, channa dhal and urad dhal
- Saute onions with a pinch of salt
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook till it is soft and the raw smell goes
- Now add the dondakaya (chopped lengthwise) and put chilly powder, salt and turmeric.Spray hing also
- Mix well and allow it to cook on medium flame till done.Keep it closed.Stir once in 5 minutes
- Once done switch off the stove and keep it closed for sometime before serving
Now Dondakaya / Kovakkai Fry is ready.Serve with Channa Dhal Coconut Rasam / Curd Rice
