Oats Brown Rice Pappu Rotta / Dosa Upma

This is a quick upma which is made out of dosa pieces and toor dhal which is filling and healthy tiffin

Ingredients
Part 1 - Seasoning and Saute
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - little
  • Red chillies - 2 nos
  • Green chillies - 2 or 3 (finely chopped)
  • Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Part 2 - Upma
  • Oats Brown Rice Kanji Dosa pieces - 2 cups
  • Toor dhal (boiled but not mashy) - 3/4 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Part 3 - Garnishing
  • Grated coconut - 1 tablespoon or more
  • Chopped coriander leaves - little

Method
Step 1 - Seasoning and Saute
  • Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds.Fry red and green chillies in it.Put curry leaves
  • Add onions and saute it with a pinch of salt
Step - 2 -  Upma
  • Add boiled toor dhal to it and swirl it once
  • Put dosa pieces, salt and mix well
  • Keep it closed for 2 minutes

Step 3 - Garnishing
  • Open the lid and add grated coconut.Mix well
  • Add coriander leaves and mix again.Switch off the stove

Dosa Upma is ready.Serve hot with tangy"Raw Mango Chutney"
