Cracked Wheat Pulav / Dalia Pulav / Samba Godhumai Rava Pulav

This pulav is highly fiber rich and serves as a very good option for Diabetes and Weight Watchers

Ingredients
Part 1 - Dry Roasting
  • Dalia - 1 cup
Part 2 - Vegetables
  • Onion - 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Mixed Vegetables (potato, carrot, peas etc) - 1 cup
  • Green chillies - 2 or 3
Pressure cook mixed vegetables for just 1 whistle.Reserve the cooked water

Part 3 - Seasoning
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds / jeera - 1 teaspoon
  • Bayleaf - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 small piece
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cardamom / elachi - 2

Part 4 - Others
  • Mint and Coriander leaves - little
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 1 1/2 cups
Method
Step 1- Dry roast
  • Dry roast dalia for 10 minutes in a low flame.Make sure that the raw smell goes.Take it out and keep it aside
Step 2 - Seasoning and saute
  • In the same kadai heat oil and season with ingredients mentioned under "Part 3"
  • Add onions with a pinch of salt and saute it
  • Add partly cooked vegetables, mint, coriander leaves and toss it once
Step 3 - Dalia Pulav
  • Pour water and put salt.Let it boil
  • Slowly sprinkle dry roasted dalia
  • Mix it well and close the lid.Cook for about 15 - 20 minutes by stiring it occasionally 


Once done serve it hot with Onion Raitha
