Palak Paratha / Green Roti

This is an exclusive recipe for "Kids".Iam sure they will enjoy this "Green Roti"

Ingredients
  • Wheat flour / atta - 1 cup
  • Palak - 1 cup (wash palak first and then chop into fine pieces)
  • Kashmiri chilly powder - 3/4 teaspoon (this is not spicy)
  • Jeera / Cumin powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - little
  • Ghee - required
  • Butter - optional

Method
Step 1 - Palak Puree
  • Saute palak pieces with the mentioned spices and salt till the raw smell goes
  • Cool and grind it into a puree
Step 2 - Kneading Dough
  • Combine this puree with Atta and make into a roti dough.No need to add water
  • Let it rest for 20 minutes atleast

Step 3 - Palak Parathas
  • Pluck out small balls from the dough
  • Heat a tawa and keep it ready
  • Meanwhile take a ball and dust with flour.Roll it out using a rolling pin
  • Spread ghee over it using a bread knife 
  • Fold it into two and apply ghee again on the folded layer as shown below
  • Fold into again.It will resemble a small triangle with layers as seen in the pic below
  • Dust it with flour and roll it out again using a rolling pin
  • Transfer into preheated tawa and cook well on both sides using ghee / butter (optional)


  • Once done take it out and serve hot
  • Apply ghee / butter before serving
  • Serve it with Onion Raitha / Plain Curd
