Magizhampoo Murukku / Mullu Murukku / Thengai Paal Murukku

This murukku is very tasty as we incorporate coconut milk, kalkandu , moong dhal flour in the preparation in addition to rice flour, butter and ghee
Again it can be offered as Naivedhyam to Lord Krishna

  • Rice flour - 4 measures / 1measure
  • Moong dhal - 1 measure / 1/4 measure
  • Kalkandu powder - 3 teaspoons
  • Coconut milk - 1 cup or more
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Ghee - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ellu / Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - to make dough
  • Oil - fry
  • Murukku Achu with single star hole
Step 1 - Dough preparation
  • Dry roast moong dhal till it emits nice aroma
  • Cool and powder it a mixer
  • In a bowl take all the mentioned items except coconut milk and water.Mix it well
  • Now add coconut milk and start kneading the dough.Sprinkle water little by little to make a smooth dough.Make sure that dough is not too tight
  • Now fit "star achu" plate inside the murukku maker
  • Grease the inner portion of it with oil and fill it with dough
Step 2 - Magizhampoo Murukku
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan
  • Squeeze the murukku achu in circular pattern in hot oil
  • Cook on both sides and take it out when the sizzling sound subsides

Now Magizhampoo Murukku is also ready for offering
