Part 1 - Pressure Cooker

Step 1 - Pressure Cooking
Note : If the jaggery contains mud strain the syrup after boiling it and heat it once again

Ingredients
Part 1 - Pressure Cooker
- Raw Rice - 1 cup
- Moong Dhal - 1/2 cup
- Milk + Water - 4 1/2 cups
Part 2 - Jaggery Syrup
- Jaggery (powdered ) - 3/4 - 1 cup (or even more)
- Elachi / Cardamom powder - a pinch
- Water - little to dissolve jaggery
- Coconut - as required optional
- Ghee - 2 tablespoons or more
- Cashews - 10 nos
- Dry grapes / Kismis - 10
Step 1 - Pressure Cooking
- Dry roast moong dhal till the raw smell goes
- Wash rice and to it add dry roasted moong dhal .Pour water + milk.Pressure cook for 5 whisltes
- Once done take it out and mash it
- While the rice and dhal are being cooked lets prepare jaggery syrup
- Take jaggery in a vessel.Pour water to immerse it
- Boil it Put elachi powder to it

Step 3 - Dry Fruits
- Heat ghee and fry cashews and dry grapes in it
Step 4 - Chakkarai Pongal
- Now we have everything ready lets mix and make Chakkarai Pongal
- Pour Jaggery syrup over cooked and mashed rice / dhal.Mix well on a low flame
- Stir for about 2 - 5 minutes
- Add grated coconut if needed
- Garnish with roasted nuts.Now hot yummy chakkari pongal is ready
