I learnt this recipe from my Mom.Very yummy and tasty snack (can be served as breakfast also) for this rainy season.It goes well with Tamarind Thogayal http://patbug.blogspot.com/2011/07/onion-tamarind-thogayal.html
Ingredients
Part 1 - Odasal
Grind all the ingredients together coarsely in a mixer.It will be like Rawa
2. Add water, coconut and salt and allow it to boil.
3. Now add the coarsely grounded odasal.Mix well, it will become like a upma dough.
4. Allow the dough to become warm.Make small balls and place it in a idly plate or even ordinary separator used in cookers (You may notice color change in the second picture below its due to my camera)

- Raw Rice - 1 cup
- Toor Dhal - 1 tablespoon
- Pepper- 8 nos
- Jeera - 1 teaspoon

Part 2 - Seasoning
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard - 1 teaspoon
- Urad Dhall - 1/2 teaspoon or little more
- Curry Leaves - Optional
- Red Chillies - 4 or more
Part 3 -Others
- Coconut - 2 tablespoons (optional)
- Salt- 1 teaspoon or according to your taste
- Water - 1 cup
Method
1. Heat oil in a kadai and season with the ingredients mentioned.Can also add pepper while seasoning (optional)
3. Now add the coarsely grounded odasal.Mix well, it will become like a upma dough.
4. Allow the dough to become warm.Make small balls and place it in a idly plate or even ordinary separator used in cookers (You may notice color change in the second picture below its due to my camera)
5. Steam it for 15 minutes and switch off the stove.Serve after 2 minutes
Serve it with Tamrind based Thogayal
