Total Green Rice (aka) Sprouted Green Channa Pulav

There is a famous Advertisement in Vijay TV."Go Green with Temple Green".This was the inspiration for me to make this Green Rice or Green Pulav



Ingredients


Rice - 1 cup
Sprouted Green Channa or any other sprouts - 1 cup

Tempering

Oil+Ghee - 1 tablespoon
Bay Leaf - 1
Cinnamon Stick -1
Cloves - 2
Elachi - 3
Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
Green Chilly -1 (slited) or more (depending upon the spice required)
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 teaspoon


Green Paste Preparation

Mint - 1/4 bunch
Coriander - 1/4 bunch

Grind both the leaves together with little water.It should be a thick green paste

Spice Powders

Garam Masala - less than 1 teaspoon
Chilly Powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Others

Curd - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Water - 2 cups

Method

1. Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes
2. Pressure cook the sprouted channa just for 2 whistles.It will be half cooked only.Keep it aside


3. In a pan heat oil and ghee.Add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves and cardamom.Also add chopped onions, green chilly.Fry till the onions are translucent




4. Add ginger garlic paste and sprinkle little water.Fry for a minute
5. Pour in the green paste and mix well.Heat it for 5 minutes


6. Add the channa to it along with the spice powders and leave it in medium flame for 5 minutes


6. Add curd along with 2 cups of water.Also add salt let it boil well
7. A this stage add the soaked rice (must be drained) and pressure cook for 2 whistles or cook it in an electrical cooker


8. Green Rice is ready. Serve it with Raitha and Chips.Dhall is also a good side dish for this main course
