Millet Butter Cookies / Millet Cookies in Cooker

This is my "First Post on Cookies" .Again to mention my "First Post for this Year 2015".
Happy New Year Folks.Let me start with a health, fiber rich and nutritious cookies for kids
Since it is made in Cooker anyone can try this

  • Any Millet Flour (I used Varagu) - 1 cup
  • Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown Sugar / Naatu Sakarai - 3/4 - 1 cup
  • Baking Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Butter (room temperature) - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - as required
  • Cookie Cutters (optional)
Step 1 - Kneading Dough
  • Take millet flour, wheat flour in a broad basin and mix it
  • Add brown sugar, baking powder, salt to it.Mix with fork
  • Put butter and start kneading it.Use milk during the process
  • Once done refrigerate the dough for 1/2 hour

Step 2 - Cookies
  • Heat salt in a cooker pan and place a stand over it
  • Roll out the dough flat using a rolling pin.Let it be medium sized thick
  • Cut out into different shapes using a cookie cutter / knife
  • Grease a flat dish and arrange cookies over it.Leave space in between the cookies
  • Close the cooker.Do not put belt.Simmer it for 20 - 25 minutes
  • Switch it off and open the lid after 10 minutes.The cookies would have baked and puffed up
