"Kaara Boondhi /Kara Boondhi" is one of the popular snack / savory during Diwali time.Here is the detailed recipe for the same
Ingredients
Part 1 - Boondhi
- Besan flour - 1 cup
 - Rice flour - 1/4 cup
 - Chilly Powder - 1 - 1 1/2 teaspoons
 - Salt - 1 teaspoon
 - Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
 - Oil - for deep frying
 
Garnish
- Fried cashews, curry leaves and peanuts - as required
 
Method
- Heat oil in a frying kadai
 - Meanwhile take a mixing bowl and put besan, rice flour, salt, haldi and chilly powder.Add water gradually to form a thick bhajji like batter
 - Hold the perforated ladle above the heated oil
 - Take a ladle full of batter and pour it over the perforated ladle and spread it
 - You will notice tiny balls falling into the oil
 - Fry well till the oil sound subsides.Take it out carefully and drain the excess oil over a colander
 - Wash and wipe the jarani after each and every batch
 - Repeat the process till the batter is exhausted
 
- Transfer the boondhis into a broad basin and garnish with fried cashews, peanuts and curry leaves
 - Shake it well so that it gets mixed thoroughly
 
Kaara Boondhi is ready to munch
