Carrot and Dates Chutney

Started replacing tamarind with dates in thogayals and chutneys which adds more nutritive value
Kids would definitely love it


Ingredients
  • Carrot (medium sized) - 2 nos
  • Small onions - 10 nos
  • Green chillies - 3 nos
  • Dates - 4
  • Coconut (grated) - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 3/4 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - little
Method
  • Heat oil in a kadai and fry onions, green chillies
  • Add grated carrot, put salt and saute till raw smell goes.Just for 2 - 3 minutes
  • Switch off the stove and cool it
  • Transfer it to a mixer jar.Add coconut and dates
  • Grind it smooth without adding water

  • Transfer it into a bowl
  • Heat oil in a small kadai. Crackle mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • Pour the seasonings over the chutney.Mix well
