Mushroom Pulav

This is the first time I made a dish out of mushroom as such.Since it came out well Iam posting this recipe here
Mushrooms contains very less calories so it aids in weight loss

Ingredients
Part 1 - Basmati Rice
  • Basmati Rice - 2 cups
  • Water - 3 cups
  • Salt - as needed
Part 2 - Seasoning and Saute
  • Oil / Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  • Bayleaf - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 small piece
  • Cardamom/elachi - 2 nos (slit opened)
  • Cloves - 3 nos
  • Garlic - 6 nos (chop into small pieces)
  • Ginger - small piece
  • Onions - 2 (cut it lengthwise)
  • Tomato -2 (chop into cubes)
  • Green Chilly - 6 nos 
  • Mushroom - 200g (chop into small cubes)
Part 3 - Others
  • Garam masala powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 3/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - little
Method
Step 1 - Soaking
  • Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes
  • Drain and keep it aside
Step 2 - Saute
  • Heat oil  / ghee in a vessel.Add cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves in a simmer flame
  • Put green chillies, ginger and garlic and fry for sometime till the raw smell of garlic goes
  • Add finely chopped onions and saute till it becomes golden brown in a medium flame.Put a pinch of salt while doing this
  • Now saute tomatoes with a pinch of salt and turmeric
  • Add mushroom cubes and swirl it once
  • Add garam masala, coriander powders, salt and mix well
Step 3 - Mushroom Pulav
  • Pour water drained from soaked rice.Add more water if needed.It should be 3 cups in total
  • Boil it with salt and coriander leaves
  • Now transfer to a greased electrical cooker pan / pressure cooker pan
  • Add soaked and drained rice.Cook for 2 whistles or switch on the electric cooker button
Mushroom Pulav is ready.Serve hot with Capsicum Raitha and Chips
