Curd (Thayir) Paniyaram

I saw this recipe in Kalaingar TV by "Paravai Muniyama".The very next day I tried it out and it was absolutely lip smacking.....

Ingredients:

Raw Rice - 1/2 cup
Sour Curd - 1 cup
Green Chillies - 2 or more (finely chopped)
Jeera - 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger - very little (grated or chopped)
Onion - 1/2 (finely chopped)
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Oil - Frying

Method

1. Soak the rice in water for about 10 minutes

2. Drain the water. In a rice pot boil around 1 1/2 cups of water and put the drained rice into it.Just give a boil.Allow it to cool
3. Grind the rice in a mixer by adding the sour curd little by little.Do not add water. The batter should be in the consistency of soft butter

4. In another bowl add 2 teaspoons of oil and mix with all other ingredients. It will be like bonda batter

5. Leave the batter mixture for 15 minutes and deep fry it in the oil

6. Drain the excess oil in a colander and then place it in a tissue paper. This will take off the extra oil

7. Hot Hot Curd Paniyaram is ready.Serve it with coconut chutney
